The HP LaserJet 4100mfp allows users to print, copy, colour scan to email and digital send in one machine. The multi-function printer saves costs and office space by replacing separate devices that can perform these tasks. The fax modem is an option that must be purchased at an additional price of $350 (new $1,200). If you also purchase the optional digital sending software from HP, you will be able to convert paper documents to PDF, JPEG and TIFF format email attachments. The optional digital sending services come with additional functionality such as user authentication and sending to LAN and Internet fax servers, network folders and workflow applications.
The printer itself has a control panel consisting of a graphical display with navigation buttons such as start, stop and zoom reset. A standard keyboard for text entry allows users to gain easy and quick access to the machine. The LEDs provides intuitive access to the comprehensive feature set.
The MFP incorporates HP Transmit Once technology to reduce network traffic. The internal print server comes with HP Web JetAdmin and Embeded Web Server (EWS) functions. This enables remote installation, configuration, diagnostics, and proactive management for all network peripherals from a common web browser such as Internet Explorer.
The HP 4100 MFP is based on the HP LaserJet 4100N laser printer with an internal 10/100 Ethernet print server (HP JetDirect 615N) included as standard. An optional automatic duplexer can be purchased from us for $250 (new $450). The optional fax modem attaches to the right hand side of the printer and connects (by a special cable) to a controller board inserted in one of the printer's EIO slots.
